My boyfriend agreed to teach me how to play music. I forewarned him that I am theory illiterate and terminologically ignorant, and I’m pretty sure that our lessons are the most exacting form of torture for him.

But, by Jove, he is eagerly planning our second lesson! I am heartwarmed and encouraged. Mishaps will be had, frustrations will result, and nerves will fray, but I really really really want to learn to play an instrument.
